I've been on holiday with my mum and sister and grandma(and Beth of course). We went to Huntington for 4 nights. It was the first time Dave had spent away from the baby since she was born and the longest time we'd spent apart since we got married nearly four years ago. I was a little anxious about Beth missing her daddy but it didn't seem to effect her to badly.
On the Monday we got into hunstanton just before lunch. We had expected the worst weather wise, and so me mum and Sarah got changed (in a car park aren't we brave) and changed Beth. The coolest thing i had in my bag was leggings and so with out the aid of a mirror i had to get my legs out (victory number 1)
In true mapletoft/dewsbury/pyrah fashion we immediately hit the shops, although in our defence it was to buy Beth a sun hat. The last time we were in hunstanton the large woolworths was sitting empty, but we pleasantly surprised to find that M&Co had moved in. We stopped for lunch and despite having a large and late breakfast i really fancied the lasagne and chips at the greasy spoon we stopped at, however i managed to convince my tummy that a salad would do (victory 2). Then it was back to the shops, as usual the grandmas took far too much time going round charity shops so Sarah and i decided that we all needed to get to the beach. The baby hadn't seen the sea for a while and we thought she might be a bit overwhelmed, but she absolutely loved it. we were a bit worried when she fell face first into the sea but she was didn't seem to mind one bit. after Beth and my mum got compleatly soaked, we decided it was time to go to the caravan and check in. The site we stayed at was actually in heachem and infested with ducks ( during the holiday i had to get out of the car 3 times to move ducks out of the road). We all took turns to shower and change as by now it was incredibly sticky. We'd been to tesco's on the way to the caravan and i cooked chicken rissoto, while sarah and grandma took beth to the park. We took an after dinner stroll and managed to get back beth to go to sleep in her pushchair.
On tuesday we went to wells-by the-sea. We started down at the beach, where beth made her first sandcastle, and then took the little train to the harbour where we got fish and chips for lunch. Then it was more shops, and more waiting for the grandmas out side of the charity shops. untill home time. It was sarah's turn to cook yummy pasta bake. after dinner we drove into hunstanton in an attempt to show beth all the pretty lights of the the fair, however the fair was closed so we ended up in an arcade where sarah won a ball 2 toy phones and 2 birthstone teddy ornaments.
On wednesday we went to the norfolk lavender fields, they have a new animal center there with rare breed animals. Beth got very excited about all the different animals. there was an adorable little chicken that looked a lot like it had been through the tumble dryer.
we spent the afternoon in hunstanton and went to the " goblin's pantry" somewhere where we've been eating as a family for generations.
well i think i'm going to have to finish this post tomorrow.
